Islam-o-Deena ("the App") helps Muslims with prayer times, Qibla, Quran reading, Adhkar, and related worship features. We respect your privacy and keep data collection to what is needed for the App to work.
1. Information we collect
- Location (optional): If you enable Smart Location or GPS, we use your device location to calculate prayer times and Qibla direction. You may instead choose a manual city. Location is processed on your device; we do not sell location data.
- App preferences: Settings such as calculation method, notification choices, theme, and language are stored locally on your device.
- Optional account: If you sign in (e.g. Google), we may sync bookmarks and settings to our backend (Supabase) linked to your account identifier. Sign-in is optional.
- Support email: If you contact us, we receive the information you send.
2. Information we do not collect by default
- We do not require an account to use core worship features.
- Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics are disabled in the default App configuration unless you opt in to future telemetry features.
- Hayd mode and fasting log data stay on your device unless you explicitly enable cloud sync.
3. How we use information
- Calculate accurate prayer times and Qibla direction
- Schedule local prayer and Ramadan notifications
- Remember your preferences and optional bookmarks
- Respond to support requests
4. Third-party services
- Quran audio may stream from third-party hosts (e.g. everyayah.com) when you play recitation.
- Firebase / Google may be used for optional authentication and push notifications if enabled.
- Supabase may store optional sync data when you are signed in.
These providers have their own privacy policies. We choose services that align with minimal data collection.
5. Permissions
- Location — prayer times & Qibla
- Notifications & exact alarms — Athan / Sehri / Iftar alerts
- Battery optimization exemption (optional) — reliable alarm delivery on Android
6. Data retention & deletion
Local data remains on your device until you clear app storage or uninstall. Cloud sync data may be deleted by contacting support@azad.co with your account email.
7. Children
The App is a general-audience Islamic utility. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent.
8. Changes
We may update this policy. The effective date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
